Yahoo buys Tumblr.
So Yahoo is buying Tumblr? I tell very few people that I like Tumblr because it is still a bit wide-open like the internet in the old days, less and less over the last few years, and god knows they spend half their time pulling stuff lately that was not pulled so fast years back. Ads where are they going to put them? Yahoo is a lot better than the “Big Brother” of Google, owned by the NSA or CIA or something. Now I must go down further into the depths of the less regulated , but still, virus, spam, and trojan free areas, and get a little time in before they become overrun business guys and old farts. -
Smithereens (1982) is a movie by Susan Seidelman, staring Susan Berman. It’s about a 19 year old teen who wants to get into the New York punk music sence. Also featuring Richard Hell a CBGB’s regular. It really shows the rotten side of New York in the early 80’s. Another one of my dads cutting edge movies when he was a teen, but it is cool for the chaos of the main charactors, and seeing the scum of NYC 1980’s style.
